February 2026
Dear Friends in Voices,
"The BIG question at the end of 2025: 'Is Voices winding down or gearing up?' The other BIG question: 'Are the members of Voices committed to its future or only content with its past?'
This is the moment for decision, to commit to the new iteration of Voices by providing money for it to become a self-supporting body.
Voices will now have a part-time staff of two people. Voices has taken ownership of all fiduciary matters (no longer under the financial umbrella of the United Religions Initiative). We have our 501c3 official status (your gifts will be tax-deductible), and we have our own bank account with Beneficial State Bank.
Our goal for 2026 is to have an Operating Fund of $30,000 and an Operating Reserve Fund of $30,000 to begin our new life of independence. The happy news is that we already have $50,000 in pledges toward our goal in this month before our start. Now we begin the task of finding Voices members who would make pledges to move us toward accomplishing our goal.
If you would be willing to make a gift or a pledge to the work of Voices in 2026 please do it soon; notify us of this gift of friendship by Valentine’s Day at: Voices_finance@URI.org. If you would like to further discuss a financial gift, feel free to contact me directly.
